Unlimited Scalability
Based on a Modular Principle
CRYO.TAS always pays off because it is put together exactly for the current requirements of a location. This ensures that the step towards automation pays off even for smaller branches with fewer loads. Due to the object-based architecture, CRYO.TAS can be expanded at any time with growing requirements and is therefore future-proof.
CRYO.TAS is always the most cost-effective solution because it is tailored to meet the exact requirements of a particular site. This means that even for smaller sites with only a few loadings, the step towards automation will prove to be worthwhile. The object-based architecture has the advantage that CRYO.TAS can be easily adapted to meet growing requirements and is therefore sustainable in the future. As a scalable overall solution, CRYO.TAS is designed like a modular system consisting of required hardware components and function-dependent software modules. The system is offered on a turnkey basis, including preliminary planning and engineering, and even optional validation. It is always adapted to the latest requirements in terms of functionality and legal regulations in connection with loading processes, including the possibility of expanding the system in the future. Drawing on decades of engineering expertise, IWB offers a single-source solution for all components, saving the customer planning effort and guaranteeing a smooth project flow. IWB incorporates the dedicated know-how and additional services of competent solution partners in the areas of analytics, process control and validation. The CRYO.TAS software design is object-oriented to meet all scalability requirements. For this reason, switching to automation is also profitable for smaller sites with only a few loadings. Future-proof and investment-proof, new system modules of a site can also be easily installed at a later point in time, and the range of functions can be expanded to meet any new requirements. Maximum efficiency and sustainability are our guiding principles. Through the use of a programmable logic controller (PLC), we ensure the greatest possible compatibility for the integration of existing systems. As the general contractor, IWB performs assessments of the sites to be upgraded at the beginning of each project, analyzing IT, inventory, tank storage, filling stations, weighing and access control. In this way, components that are functional and do not require an upgrade are included in the overall planning of CRYO.TAS in a budget-friendly manner. Thus, not only are investments that have already been made protected but the environment is also taken into consideration. Alternatively, new hardware components can be provided by either the customer or as an option by IWB in a manufacturer-neutral manner. The latter option is standard procedure when new turnkey projects are planned. There are no limits to the use of CRYO.TAS, neither geographically nor in terms of bulk products. For instance, various sites can be combined into a production cluster with a central server structure. In a client-server setup, sites run completely autonomously, and data is collected and replicated practically in real-time. CRYO.TAS as a fully flexible solution offers all general requirements for fully automated and unmanned operations regardless of whether air gases, CO2, hydrogen (H2), or down-cooled and liquefied natural gas (LNG) or liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) are to be loaded in a quality-assured manner. The standardized and company-wide solution guarantees maximum process safety and cost-efficiency.

GATE.TAS is the CRYO.TAS module for access control of both personnel and vehicles, ensuring secure entry to the plant site. It controls doors and gate systems for buildings, weighbridge rooms, and other safety-critical areas, thereby providing controlled, traceable, and auditable access to the facility.
SCALE.TAS is the CRYO.TAS module for mass balancing and vehicle weighing, forming the basis for the automated generation of loading documents such as weigh tickets and certificates, as well as for balancing and quota management. Loaded, remaining, and produced quantities are captured, calculated, and consistently evaluated within the system.
The CRYO.TAS identification system automates the verification of driver authorizations (e.g. ADR compliance). Communication is handled via a multilingual HMI terminal, with RFID predominantly used as the access reader technology.
FILL.TAS is the CRYO.TAS loading control module for the safe monitoring and control of all loading processes. It enables fully automated loading bays, including analysis gantries, and ensures—through HMI-guided operation—that drivers receive all loading-relevant instructions in a clearly structured manner and in their respective native language.
QM.TAS provides the complete analysis control within CRYO.TAS and ensures continuous quality control and evaluation across the entire process. The implementation is manufacturer-independent, allowing the selection of analyzers to strictly follow project-specific requirements; optionally, QM.TAS can be realized as an ENEV-compliant system container with a dedicated analyzer cabinet for each product group.
STORE.TAS enables centralized tank farm control in both batch and continuous operation. It supports batch formation, loading release or blocking, and provides transparent visibility of all tank states. During active loading operations, STORE.TAS controls safe tank changeovers in real time.
With the Multi-Factory module, any number of production and loading sites can be combined into a single, shared system cluster. In addition to centralized replication and consistent maintenance of master data, the module enables uniform processes, cross-site role and authorization concepts, and centralized transparency across operations, quality, and loading activities. Thanks to its integrated multi-product capability, a wide variety of sites can be seamlessly connected—such as CO₂ plants, hydrogen facilities, and air separation units for LOX, LIN, and LAR—allowing heterogeneous production landscapes to be mapped onto a unified CRYO.TAS platform.
With the CRYO.TAS add-on for event messaging, you limit the manual monitoring of your Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to the essentials. The system works independently during trouble-free operation, but thanks to the add-on you will be informed directly by e-mail about unusual events and malfunctions and can take countermeasures. In the system, for example, you define limit values as event thresholds and determine which responsible person should be informed of which event.

CRYO.TAS also has a suitable solution for the special requirements of product blending: with the expansion module for mixed products, you can create recipes and monitor the loading, dosing and quality of these products. In conjunction with a loading point with dosing function, the software automatically calculates the respective loading quantities using the mixing recipe and the vehicle container data and uses the analysis results to determine whether additional dosing is required.
With the CRYO.TAS extension module for third-party administration of vehicle fleets and self-collectors, you give your forwarders the complete administration of their drivers and vehicles themselves and thus save further resources. Using a secure access portal, freight forwarders can independently manage drivers and vehicles, create new ones and update the ADR data and authorizations.
Medical gases are an important part of the gas industry and are subject to strict guidelines in their production, monitoring and distribution. In this way, CRYO.TAS can be expanded to include the add-on module for electronic product approval, so that the approval process can be carried out by authorized persons (QP) regardless of location and time. You can define any number of release steps and responsible persons for these products in the system. All functions in this add-on module are absolutely GMP compliant.
The Validation add-on module extends CRYO.TAS with automated verification of analyzers using validation, zero, and span gases. If measured deviations exceed freely configurable limit values, an automatic instrument adjustment is triggered; for analyzers that do not measure continuously—such as gas chromatographs or mass spectrometers—no additional valve manifold extension is required, provided an external valve manifold for gas switching is available.
With the ERP extension, you can easily connect your CRYO.TAS system to existing ERP or other production planning and control systems via standardized interfaces. This ensures the secure and compatible export of billing-relevant data, for example.

performance, scalability or integration capabilities. Because integrations such as ERP interfaces, third-party administration or the ARC.TAS archive system only need to be licensed once, the central platform delivers significant benefits compared to decentralized standalone installations. All logistical and product-related master data is automatically replicated across every connected site, simplifying standardization and minimizing the risk of errors. Software updates are also deployed centrally on the Master and automatically distributed to all connected systems. This significantly reduces maintenance efforts and simplifies long-term scaling—especially for companies with expanding production networks or heterogeneous portfolios (LOX/LIN/LAR, CO₂, H₂ and other bulk gases). Overall, the CRYO.TAS Master System creates a unified digital backbone that combines global transparency, maximum data security, lower operating costs and long-term future readiness—an ideal foundation for organizations seeking to standardize, integrate and efficiently scale their production landscape.
